@Simon @Alan: Maya Trouble

I was working on my super antibiotic and had just saved it before leaving the room for a couple of minutes. When I returned maya had crashed (usually not a problem, happens a lot) except my scene had been changed to the highlighted file in the above picture. I cannot open it, and whenever I try and open the original from my recent files, it says the file does not exist.

I still have a very old version of it, but I've been working on/editting this model for most of today and if there's any way to recover my work that would be super helpful

  1. Hi. Sorry but there is no way to recover the file. I can see by the address that it was a USB disk. The reason why the file didn't save was a temporary loss of connection between the USB and the computer - I can also be a factor in Maya crashing. It can also happen if your USB device is full too.

  2. You can always send me the file (apostings@ucreative.ac.uk) and I'll take a look just in case?

  3. Note: If you go to send it and it fails it's beacuse its a ghost file holding no data.
