Minor/Major Project: Biography - Adelaide Rodriques

Name: Adelaide Rodriques.
Age: 23 (Born January 5th, 1876).
Parents: Willard and Martha Rodriques.
Home: Monstrum Manor, Surrey. A large estate belonging to the Rodriques family.
About:

  • The Rodriques family began as cryptid hunters in the late 1500s, and were tasked with the extermination of various creatures and supernatural beings, as well as the removal of curses left on people by malicious fae.
  • Now, the family mainly specialises in the conservation of cryptids, and aims to help people better understand (or in some cases avoid) them.
  • Adelaide is heiress to the estate. Her parents have retired, though continue to write letters to people all over the world who require help dealing with troublesome creatures.
  • Her parents have dedicated most of the manor to various things they acquired on their travels, including wet specimens, bones, taxidermy pieces, and an endless number of sketches and journals documenting what they've seen.
  • Adelaide wishes to follow in her parents footsteps, and travel the world looking for cryptids. While her parents only went as far as Egypt (where they acquired a Pheonix named Blaise), Adelaide wishes to go further, and visit other cryptozoologists she exchanges letters with regularly.
  • In order to start her expedition, she seeks the help of her friend and fellow cryptozoologist Kamal Manish Singh to help her plan. They then contact Grete and Friedrich Sauer, German siblings who specialise in tracking and trapping cryptids. Adelaide first met the pair when they gave her two Wolpertingers (jackalope-like creatures) that were being sold illegally by an exotic pet trader.
  • Adelaide wants to show people that not all of these creatures are to be feared, and that the ones that are need to be treated with respect and space.
  • With a journal in hand, Adelaide and her crew begin their lengthy expedition.
