Digital Painting: Colour Composition Exercises

I used my old concept art to make these colour compositions. For the images on the left I set the original image to black and white with the colours set to overlay over it, for the right, I kept the concept art in colour. The aim was to show different times of day/moods/weather using colour.

Digital Painting: Production Art - Lizard Kiosk

Today in our digital painting class, we did a mini project that involved picking two pieces of paper from a box, one with an object and the other with an animal/plant. We then had to design the object we'd picked, inspired by the animal/plant we'd picked. My object was a kiosk and my animal a lizard. We then had to do research and thumbnails, as seen in the top image, before refining our idea. This is my completed lizard inspired kiosk.

Digital Painting: Colour Compositions

I used my collages of Argia to create these colour compositions. I like how different colours give each one a different mood and feel.

Digital Painting: Collages

Using my building thumbnails for Argia, I created these collages which show a rough idea of what the city could look like if I was to develop it.

Digital Painting: Abstracts

These abstracts I did in class today were inspired by the city Ocatvia. Doing the abstracts was useful for generating ideas, and I plan to use a similar colour scheme when I do the thumbnails for this city.

Digital Painting

I am very happy with the paintings I produced in this class, though they are simple and quick. They were fun to do, and I plan to do more quick practice paintings in the future in order to improve and produce more work.
